Argentine tango is a special kind of dance, which is about 100 years old. It is a dance of vivid feelings – love and passion. Tango came to Argentina together with the settlers of the African communities in Buenos Aires. Translated from one of the African dialects, the word “tango” means – “movement under the beat of drums”, which just characterizes the rhythm of this dance. Initially, tango was not a pair dance – it was performed exclusively by men. It was a kind of duel for the attention of women, where the weapon was dancing skills. Today it is a pair aristocratic dance.
